Manitou Modern ADU
About This Build Project
Kim Hardesty’s 256 square-foot Modern kit home located near Madisonville, Kentucky came to life in only 8 hours with the help of a construction crew and crane. The accessory dwelling unit, ADU for short gives their daughter more independence while staying close to mom and dad.
With the addition of a MRCOOL mini-split system, this kit has no problem staying cool in the hot, muggy summers and warm during the occasional polar vortex when temperatures dip to -6 degrees. The many windows provide ample natural light.
“We purchased the smallest minisplit system available and it kept our daughter's MSH toasty during the polar vortex,” Hardesty said.
